Braces
When patients typically think of orthodontic treatment, their first thoughts may be of traditional metal braces - the original orthodontic treatment method! Thankfully, significant advancements in orthodontic treatment have been made since the first metal braces in the 1800's! Still effective, metal (or ceramic) brackets are adhered to the tooth's surface and a wire is placed in the brackets. Pressure from the combination of bracket and wire encourages teeth to move along the shape of the wire and the teeth gradually move through the jaw bone over a number of months into their ideal position.
Dr. Zach, Dr. Alex, and Dr. Joe typically offer patients the option of braces or Invisalign® - and the cost is the same in our office regardless of treatment method. The most important thing to remember is that in our office, the end result from our board-certified orthodontists will be the same whether you are treated with braces or Invisalign®.
Early & Adolescent Orthodontic Treatment
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an initial evaluation and orthodontic screening by age 7 to identify any opportunities for early interceptive treatment and to establish a baseline for growth and future treatment.
TMJ / TMD
Orthodontic treatment can relieve symptoms of TMJ / TMD. No referral is required and in addition to orthodontic treatment, patients may benefit from physical therapy. In our practice we often refer our patients to a local PT group who is wonderful in providing relief to patients suffering from TMJ / TMD symptoms.
